Mark “Dee” Glover began singing when he was very young. Dee was born on February 23rd in Brooklyn, NY to Pastor David & Sis Hazel Glover. Although as a kid, he didn’t get many offers to sing bass. One evening around the age of eight, Dee sat at the piano next to his mother for worship and started belting out a song.
The very next week, Sis. Glover asked Dee to sing for the Mount of Olives S.D.A (children’s) Cherub Choir director. Dee was placed in the choir and was featured doing a solo on the Cherub Choir’s album before he was ten. Later his own solo album was released as he sang almost every weekend throughout the NY tri-state area and Canada. As it happens with all deep-men, the teenage years brought a “change in the range.” Dee was in denial for a while and even with the deep rich tones he had acquired, he still was singing tenor even up to the point he was recruited into Last Appeal in 1989 as the second tenor.
That year Dee’s musical career took a major leap when he and fellow group member E1 won the McDonald’s tri-state Gospelfest. From there, his group went on to win a Gospel Academy Award for Group of the Year. Artist/Producer Al B. Sure signed Last Appeal to a record deal with Capitol Records in 1991.
A lover, and listener of just about all types of music, Dee has intricately studied vocal harmony as he has dissected and analyzed the harmonies of some of his favorite groups which include Glad, Alliance, Special Blend and a plethora of others.
Dee also pioneered an internet-based Adventist information system in the nineties known as the Testimony Sharing Network. He has also worked as a DJ and program director at several radio stations in New York and New Jersey.
In April 2000, Dee was reunited with his former group member Marc Dwyer, and the Greene brothers, to form the very special musical entity, 7th Element. Dee is happily married to Laureen, and they have 2 boys Jadon, Jonathon. They currently reside in Palm Coast, Florida.
